ActionBase Reaches Out to Microsoft SharePoint

The trouble with Microsoft SharePoint is that while it’s great for storing documents, it’s not much help when it comes to creating and managing workflows.

To help solve this problem, ActionBase has announced that it is integrating its namesake software for setting up a workflow around a business process with Microsoft SharePoint.

The promise of Microsoft SharePoint has gone largely unfulfilled because for the most part SharePoint is an isolated silo of documents within the enterprise.

According to ActionBase CTO Jacob Ukleson, ActionBase solves this problem by making SharePoint the latest in a series of document management systems that ActionBase has integrated into its overall workflow system. As customers look to use ActionBase as a platform for unifying business processes that touch multiple document repositories in the enterprise, SharePoint becomes integrated into the larger system.

By leveraging the integration with SharePoint, SharePoint documents can be integrated into the ActionBase e-mail system and users can now track changes to documents made within any specified SharePoint group from within the ActionBase environment.
