Aerohive Simplifies Mobile Device Management

The latest versions of the HiveOS and HiveManager Network Management Software make it simpler for end users to authenticate devices on the network.

According to Stephen Phillip, Aerohive vice president of corporate and product marketing, as bring your own technology (BYOT) to work becomes more prevalent in the enterprise, IT organizations want end users to be able to provision services without having to deploy and manage open, unsecured guest networks. With this version of Aerohive’s software, end users simply register with the HiveAP Web portal to request permission to use the network. Once they register, specific permissions can be granted or removed by the network administrator regardless of whether the company owns the device or not. The network administrator can also prioritize services based on classes of applications.

Aerohive has also added a new spectrum of analysis tools that make it easier to identify potential sources of interference, such as microwaves.
