BlueStripe Expands Reach of Performance Analysis

Most IT organizations spend most of their time looking for a problem, versus actually fixing it. To reduce the amount of time IT organizations need to spend looking for problems, BlueStripe Software developed FactFinder, an application performance management tool that automatically identifies the components of any given application system.

BlueStripe today announced that its FactFinder 3.0 application performance management software is now available on Windows Server 2008 and AIX servers. The software already runs Windows Server 2003, Windows XP, Linux and Sun Solaris servers. This new capability is important, said Mike Lough, BlueStripe vice president of marketing, because more mission-critical application environments are now being further complicated by the advent of virtualization.

FactFinder 3.0 requires no special coding to discover all the components of an application in real time and then give IT organizations a single unified view of all performance issues, including configuration and network bandwidth issues.

That unified view, said Lough, allows teams of IT support people who are responsible for IT infrastructure and the applications that run on them to have a common view of the entire environment, versus trying to correlate information across disparate management tools.

The new release also now includes an export facility that allows FactFinder data to be shared with other systems management applications as well.
