Convirture Launches Virtual Starter Kit
Convirture has launched a starter edition of its platform for managing Xen and KVM hypervisors.
According to Craig Bauman, vice president of sales and business development for Convirture, ConVirt 2.0 Enterprise Starter Edition provides a management framework on top of Xen and KVM virtual machine environments that IT organizations can deploy in a matter of minutes.
Bauman says Convirture expects this capability to be especially popular with development organizations that need to put up and tear down virtual machine servers quickly, but right now lack any real system to automate management of that process.
The Starter Edition is licensed for up to three managed hosts and an unlimited number of virtual machines.
Prices for the Starter Edition of the open source management platform starts at $2,495 for a perpetual-use license.
