To address this issue, dynaTrace today released the dynaTrace Development Team Edition, which is designed to help groups of developers track performance issues across multiple tiers of applications that can all be written using different code bases.
According to Toffer Winslow, chief marketing officer for dynaTrace, as more complex applications are developed by growing teams of developers, IT organizations need a more comprehensive approach to managing the process that goes beyond focusing on managing one application at a time.
In addition, Winslow said IT organizations need more transparency because many of these applications run on virtual machines that in many cases mask the interplay and dependencies between various applications.
The new dynaTrace offering provides a unified profiler for Java, Microsoft.Net and Web applications; support for composite applications regardless of whether they are running on physical or virtual servers or in the cloud; the ability to trace transactions across multiple applications; and integration with a wide variety of developer tools and environments.

The dynaTrace Development Team Edition starts at $1,000 per developer depending on configuration.
