FusionOps Automates BI Application Development Process

One of the most difficult aspects of business intelligence is all the work that goes into setting up the application. But a new cloud computing service from FusionOps promises to automate most of those tasks in a way that allows an IT organization to deliver an application that measures and tracks the performance of a business process in a matter of hours.

FusionOps is formally rolling out today a performance management application as a service, called FusionOps Insight, that leverages the schemas of existing on-premise applications to automatically render a composite application that analyzes the performance of any given specified business process.

The current version of FusionOps Insight is optimized for SAP application environments, but the technology can be applied to any set of enterprise applications that have exposed schemas.

According to FusionOps officials, this approach allows IT organizations to deploy an enterprise performance management application as a service that can pay for itself in less than 12 weeks. Pricing for the application service is $3,000 per month per company and $100 per user per month, providing the customer has a minimum of 10 active users.

All the processes typically associated with setting up a business intelligence application of this type, including data cleansing, presentation rendering, application integration logic and ETL, have been automated by FusionOps, which company officials said only requires read-only access to the data in the on-premise applications in order to start generating metrics, reports and key performance indicators around a business process.

Fusion Insight is based on the same technology that FusionOps uses to deliver FusionOps Streamline application as a service for supply chain management. Both applications were built using a custom, patented FusionOps Central application development environment designed specifically to create composite applications by leveraging access to multiple application schemas.
