Version 10.4 of the Bomgar software, which runs on an appliance known as the Bomgar Box, allows help desk personnel to remotely take control of an end user’s desktop.
Similar capabilities are available through a wide variety of help desk services on the Web, but Bomgar claims to be the only offering that allows IT organizations to deploy that same type of capability internally. Here's a snapshot of the interface:

It is expected that help desks will soon be overwhelmed with requests for assistance as end users work through many of the issues associated with learning the nuances of a new operating system.
The new release also adds enhanced support for Ubuntu Linux desktop and gives help desks the ability to more easily prioritize requests for assistance.
