HP Brings DreamColor to Mobile Workstation

HP, Laptops
Hewlett-Packard has announced a 17-inch mobile workstation that incorporates DreamColor monitor technology that can render over 1 billion colors, while also adding new options to its desktop workstation lineup.

Available using Intel Core i5 or i7 Series processors, the HP EliteBook 8740w notebook is designed for applications were color fidelity is absolutely crtical, said HP officials.

DreamColor was originally developed by HP in conjunction with DreamWorks Animation for a line of desktop displays. With the arrival of the EliteBook 8740w notebook, that technology is now available in a mobile workstation.

The system, which can be configured with up to 16GB of memory, is priced starting at $1,999.

HP also rolled out today an ultra-compact HP Z200 deskside workstation that is priced at $739, and new Z800, Z600 and Z400 series of workstations based on the new Intel Xeon 5600 series processors that Intel unveiled last week.
