HP Puts LoadRunner on Amazon Cloud

As part of an effort to make IT more accessible to mid-market companies, Hewlett-Packard today announced new service offerings and the availability of a free beta of its LoadRunner testing software that eventually will be delivered as a pay-as-you-go service on the Amazon public cloud computing platform.

According to Frank aan de Stegge, director of worldwide commercial solutions for HP Software, as more mid-market IT organizations rely on public cloud infrastructure, HP plans to make more of its software available on these types of platforms, in addition to making its software available on its own cloud computing platform.

HP also launched a ten.to.one initiative to expand the scope of services that it offers mid-market customers via partneships with resellers and IT services companies and announced the creation of a Commerial Solutions unit within the HP Software group.

HP also announced that its Data Protector software has been enhanced to support Microsoft Hyper V Windows Server R2 environments and that it has new SiteScope Operations Manager software for monitoring service levels provided by an IT organization.
