Kaseya 2, which is available both as a service and as an on-premise offering, is adding free remote access, enhanced tools for remote remediation and more sophisticated automation of systems management tasks thanks in part of the inclusion of a policy-driven help desk that conforms to IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) guidelines.
In addition, Kaseya 2 features a streamlined user interface, the ability to organize tasks around various IT roles, a LiveConnect application for video conferencing and instant messaging, and a discovery application for identifying all the IP devices on the network.

In addition, the new offering is being packaged in an enterprise edition, a small to medium business (SMB) edition and a “Master’s Edition” aimed at IT services providers.
According to Jim Alves, executive vice president of strategy and product marketing, the new edition marks a push by Kaseya to compete more effectively at the enterprise level now that the core engine of the platform has been enhanced to support thousands of users, which should stand in sharp contrast to legacy management platforms in the enterprise that are still largely based on client/server architectures.
