The ThinkStation E20 can be configured with Pentium, Xeon, i3 or i5 Intel processors and gives customers the option of Intel Core HD graphics or discrete graphics based on NVIDIA Quadro graphics processors.
According to John Heim, team lead worldwide ThinkStation product marketing, the ThinkStation E20 is a response to Lenovo research that shows that many customers are running workstation-class applications such as CAD/CAM on standard desktop PCs largely because of the state of the economy.

The Lenovo workstations come with Error Correcting Code DDR3 memory and have an Energy Star 5.0 rating.
Lenovo sees this as an opportunity to expand its footprint in the market segment, but Heim said that given the pricing levels it would not surprise Lenovo if customers opted to buy ThinkStation E20 workstation in place of high-end PCs for a wider range of applications.
