Lenovo showcased today at the Consumer Electronics Show just how much processing power can be packaged in a small footprint.
The company highlighted new laptop offerings based on second-generation Intel Core processors, also known as Sandy Bridge, that highlight how Intel-based laptops will evolve in 2011. In addition, Lenovo showed laptop systems that combined second-generation Intel Core processors with 1GB switchable graphics processors from NVIDIA .
The combined next generation Intel and NVIDIA graphics processors are manifested in IdeaPad Y560d, Y470 and Y570 systems that sport 14-inch and 15.6-inch screens. The Y570 is also available in a version that supports 3-D graphics.
Lenovo is also launching the IdeaPad V Series notebooks that are also based on second-generation Intel Core processors. These systems come with a set of security tools that include OneKey Rescue System for backup and recovery and the Lenovo Security Suite to encrypt data. The V Series also comes with a Fingerprint Reader and a USB Port Locker to prevent unauthorized access to USB ports.

The IdeaPad Y series will be available in May with pricing that starts at $899.
The IdeaPad V series will be available in April with pricing starting at $599.
