The good news is that this is getting somewhat easier to figure out thanks to services such as Google's Mobile Page Speed, which, among other things, allows IT organizations to discover just how well certain mobile devices and applications perform when they are used to access your website.
Now, Compuware is taking that one step further by make the data generated by Google Mobile Page Speed accessible via its Gomez application performance management tools. The new release adds support for a Mobile Real-User Monitoring Conversion Analytics tool to analyze that data alongside better integration with the company's recently acquired dynaTrace root cause code analytics software.

According to Steve Tack, CTO of Compuware’s APM Business, IT organizations everywhere are increasingly being judged by the user experience people have when accessing their websites via mobile applications. The trouble is no one can really be sure whether a performance issue is the fault of the IT organization or the mobile network that the mobile application is using to access the site.
The new integration with Gomez APM leverages technology that Compuware gained via its acquisition of dynaTrace to track issues down to specific lines of code, said Tack.
As IT organizations begin to embrace HTML5 to build next-generation mobile computing applications, expectations concerning the performance of those applications are only going to continue to rise. And because there is now frequently a deep association between the experience of people on the Web using their mobile computing devices and the perception of the company’s brand, it’s going to be more important than ever for the IT organization to ensure that people are having a quality mobile computing experience.
