Nolio Automates Application Management

Nolio today unveiled an application service automation platform (ASAP) designed to specifically meet the needs of IT managers wrestling with application management issues on a daily basis.

In contrast to application lifecycle management (ALM) platforms, Nolio ASAP is designed to automate the tasks associated with maintaining and updating a broad array of applications, said Eran Sher, executive vice president of products and business development. ALM systems focus more on managing the development of the applications themselves.

According to Sher, most of the IT automation platforms available today are designed to manage infrastructure. Nolio ASAP was designed to meet the increasingly complex challenges associated with frequent application updates and the sheer number of enterprise applications that most companies have to manage. The end result, he added, is that most application changes are either made manually or using some rudimentary script, even though 60 percent of all application downtime is directly related to configuration issues.

By automating these tasks, Sher said IT organizations could decrease application downtime by 90 percent, while shortening the amount of time it takes to release an application by 90 percent.
