Pano Logic Embraces Microsoft Hyper-V

Pano Logic has announced that it is integrating its approach to desktop virtualization with Hyper-V virtual machines from Microsoft with the release of version 3.5 of Pano System.

The company already supports virtual machine software from VMware. But as Microsoft starts to gain strength in the virtualization space, Pano Logic says more customers are starting to ask about Hyper-V support.

According to Dana Loof, Pano Logic executive vice president for worldwide marketing, Microsoft is starting to show some strength in the small-to-medium business space as Hyper-V is rolled out as part of Windows Server 2008.

In addition, Loof notes that in the not-too-distant future it will be more common for customers to have to support both VMware and Hyper-V.

The Pano System is built around a zero-client architecture that Loof says is substantially easier to manage than alternative approaches to desktop virtualization while also putting less pressure on network and storage resources.

Prices for the Pano System start at $319 per seat.
