Radware Makes ADCs Virtual

Radware has extended its Virtual Application Delivery Infrastructure (VADI) architecture with the delivery of a virtual application delivery controller (ADC) and the launch of a related plug-in module that can be used to manage Radware ADC software via orchestration software from VMware.

According to Eitan Bremmler, Radware product marketing manager for virtualization, virtual ADCs such as Radware’s Alteon VA are in demand among organizations trying to build cloud computing environments. A virtual instance of an ADC gives them a method for balancing loads that can quickly be deployed to meet additional capacity requirements without having to invest in additional hardware.

Bremmler says the new vDirect plug-in module also provides a tool for orchestrating the management of Radware virtual ADC software on VMware virtual machines. The plug-in integrates with the VMware Orchestration System to allow VMware administrators to manage the entire virtual data center on an end-to-end basis, says Bremmler.

As virtual data centers evolve in the cloud, Bremmler says IT organizations are looking for virtual infrastructure in the form of software that can be quickly deployed and easily managed as an extension of the overall virtualization management environment.
