RSA Partners with Lumension on DLP

RSA has been building a significant ecosystem around its DLP products that already includes Cisco, Microsoft and Blue Coat Systems.

According to Ash Devata, senior product marketing manager for RSA, this ecosystem may one day result in more standards for DLP policy management, but in the short term, RSA is trying to concentrate on creating its own unified approach to DLP management.

Although managing DLP policies has proven to be a challenge, mounting concerns over intellectual property theft are driving more IT organizations to look for approaches to DLP that can be broadly applied, said Devata.

Lumension will leverage the DLP technology it is gaining via an RSA software development kit to integrate DLP management under a common management console for the existing suite of Lumension security products.
