Hedgehog 3.5 is part of a class of security management tools that seeks to automate many of the tasks that security professionals previously handled themselves. But the efficacy of many of these tools has come into question because the number of false positive alerts tend to increase after many of these types of tools are implemented.
Sentrigo officials said they are trying to address these concerns with an update that makes it easier for security professionals to determine what processes they want to automate, and which ones they would prefer to handle manually.
Other new features in Hedgehog 3.5 include application mapping, which automatically collects information on databases and applications while keeping track of what users accessed them. This capability should prove to be especially useful for compliance and auditing requirements, Sentrigo officials said.

Hedgehog 3.5 also adds improved support for using database security software across a wide area network, a new feedback mechanism that shares data with Sentrigo’s research team, and enhanced reporting tools.
