Service Remotely Manages Microsoft Servers

Microsoft’s suite of unified communications software is one of the most complex things for any IT organization to deploy and maintain.

But with the help of a new managed service offering from Azaleos, IT organizations can outsource management of these types of applications to a third party.

Rather than run these applications on cloud computing services where feature tradeoffs are required to deal with application latency issues, Azaleos argues that IT organization should deploy these types of applications locally to take advantage of every feature and maintain high levels of performance. But the ongoing management of these applications should be shifted to a managed service provider that can remotely optimize the environment.

Azaleos accomplishes this by deploying its management software on the customer’s site, then using the data it gathers to remotely manage Microsoft applications. In its most recent announcement, Azaleos is adding support for Microsoft’s Office Communications Server (OCS) alongside support for Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SharePoint and Blackberry Enterprise Server deployments.

Setting up Microsoft’s OCS software has been especially challenging for many IT organizations as the telephony applications that run on top of Microsoft OCS are especially latency sensitive. Azaleos also offers advice on how to set up these applications at what company officials described as much lower prices than traditional IT services companies because it’s in Azaleos' best interest to make sure the environment they will have to support on an ongoing basis is configured properly.
