SnapLogic Adds Java Support to Mashup Server

SnapLogic, which makes a middleware platform for integrating disparate sets of data, is now adding support for Java-based applications.

Previously, the SnapLogic DataFlow server had been limited to applications built using Python that are popular on the Web. But with the addition of Java support, the SnapLocic server can be used to integrate disparate sets of data typically associated with mainstream Java applications in the enterprise, said SnapLogic CEO Guarav Dhillon.

SnapLogic is essentially a server that abstracts the data integration process high enough to enable mashups between various applications. The new version 2.2 update also adds support for additional data type connectors and enhanced levels of parallelism running on multi-core processors.

Dhillion says he expects customers to use the DataFlow server to integrate Python applications on the Web with Java applications in the enterprise to give end users the ability to compare and contrast data from what are essentially two different domains within the enterprise.
