Tool Tracks Cloud Computing Experience

First there was a new class of tools that allow IT organizations to monitor the performance of infrastructure inside a cloud computing service. Now there is a tool that allows IT organizations to measure the performance of applications being delivered via the cloud.

Knoa Software has launched a Virtual/Cloud Experience Manager that tracks the experience of individual users when accessing an application running on a remote cloud service. This offering, which is an extension of software that Knoa offers for on-premise applications, is designed to make it easier for IT organizations to discover the causes of application anomalies without having to physically sit alongside each individual end user.

In addition, IT organizations can set thresholds for when they want to be alerted should the performance of any particular application drop below a certain level.

That information can be useful in virtual server and cloud computing environments where users are dubious about the impact of shared IT infrastructure on application performance.

The Knoa software is based on agent software that is loaded on to each client system. The agent captures benchmark data and other baseline information that helps IT organizations discover the specific issues an individual end user may be having with any particular application.
