As one of the early pioneers of VDI based on top of a Linux hypervisor platform, Virtual Bridges has been competing with VMware, Citrix and Microsoft in the emerging VDI market.
According to Virtual Bridges CEO Jim Curtin, the Verde solution provides a heterogeneous approach to support multiple operating systems that is easy to manage and provision; and with the addition of a cloud computing offering, customers can now create federated VDI deployments spanning both a public and private cloud.

In contrast, said Curtin, rival offerings are optimized around one particular client, which does not reflect the reality of today’s enterprise computing environments.
As part of that environment, Curtin said the Verde offering is specifically designed to meet the requirements of mobile users running almost any type of client system that is frequently disconnected from the network.
