Zenprise Simplifies Mobile Device Management

One of the biggest challenges in IT today is trying to figure out how to manage employee-owned devices that are proliferating throughout the enterprise. Although these devices often need to be managed by IT, they also contain personal information that IT organizations are not allowed to accidentally erase.

Zenprise today rolled out a new version of its MobileManage software that adds a Selective Wipe capability that allows an IT organization to wipe corporate data off an employee’s device, including Apple iPhone and iPad devices, without erasing all their personal information.

In addition, the new version allows IT organizations to apply different security levels to employee-owned devices and corporate devices, while providing a “lifeline” feature that allows IT organizations to selectively decide to support a remote employee-owned device in an emergency.

According to Ahmed Datoo, vice president of marketing for Zenprise, the number of employee-owned devices in the enterprise is expanding rapidly as the consumerization of IT continues to gain momentum. IT organizations are being challenged to support these devices in non-traditional ways, which means they need access to more flexible mobile management tools.
